Good value if you watch the rules

I've bought these Restaurant.com eGift Cards a few times now, and they usually work out great. You just need to be careful with the minimum spend and days of the week a restaurant accepts them. One time, a place closed down after I bought a certificate, but Restaurant.com exchanged it for me, so no biggie. I usually save around 25% on my meals, which is pretty solid.

Worked out pretty well

So I was looking for a spot for dinner with a friend, and remembered Restaurant.com. I ended up getting a $25 certificate for this diner not too far from my place. The website was easy enough to navigate to find it. I got the certificate emailed to me pretty fast, and when we went to the diner, they took it without any drama. It was a good way to try a new place without spending too much. Overall, it was a solid experience, no complaints really.

Reliable for dinner deals

I've been using Restaurant.com for a couple of years now for various dinner certificates. My last purchase was a $50 certificate for a steakhouse across town. Like previous orders, the process was smooth – I bought it, printed the voucher, and it worked without a hitch at the restaurant. I always check the minimum spend and day restrictions, which helps avoid surprises. They consistently deliver on the promised value. It's why I keep coming back for new dining options.

Good certificate, slow support

I bought a $25 Dining Certificate for a local Italian place last week. The ordering process on the site was simple enough, and the certificate was in my inbox within minutes, which was great. When I tried to use it at the restaurant, there was a small hiccup with the redemption code, not sure if it was the restaurant's system or mine. I contacted customer support through their online form; it took about 2 days for them to get back to me, but they did resolve the issue. The food at the restaurant was good, and the certificate value was applied correctly once the issue was sorted. Just wish support was a bit faster.

Easy to buy and use

Got a $10 certificate for a cafe. It was quick to purchase. Printed it out. Used it for lunch. No problems. Saved a few dollars. Simple process.

So many options!

I grabbed a $25 certificate for that new sushi spot, and it was such a great deal! The selection of restaurants is huge, I always find something new to try. Redeeming it was super easy right from my phone, no printing needed. I'm telling all my friends about this site, definitely planning my next dinner out soon!

I saw a $25 for $2 deal advertised somewhere. Are those flash sales common, or did I just miss out on a rare one?

A Amber Doyle 2 months ago
They have those $2 and $4 sales pretty often, especially around holidays or big shopping days like Black Friday.

Keep an eye on your email if you sign up. They send out notifications for those kinds of deals all the time. You didn't miss the only one, they pop up regularly.

Hey, I'm thinking about buying one of the Dinner and a Movie bundles. Are those usually a good deal compared to buying separately?

J Jared Walsh 1 month ago
Yeah, usually. The movie tickets alone can be expensive, so if you're planning on doing both, it's often a decent saving.

Depends on the movie theater and restaurant, but typically, it's a solid deal. Check the value of the movie tickets though.

Hey, wondering if these restaurant certificates are legit. Like, do restaurants actually honor them without a fuss?

G Greg 1 month ago
Yeah, totally legit. I've used them a bunch of times, never had a restaurant refuse one.

They're fine. Just make sure you read the rules for each certificate, like minimum spend and stuff, before you go. Sometimes there are blackout days too.

What happens if a restaurant closes down after I bought a certificate for it? Am I just out the money?

F Faith Ito 2 months ago
You can usually exchange it for a different restaurant's certificate if that happens. I had to do it once, it was pretty easy.

I think they let you swap it for another one on their site. Don't think you lose out completely.

Is the tip included in the certificate value? Or do I still need to tip on top of the original bill amount?

R Rosa F. 1 month ago
Nope, tip is almost never included. You always have to tip on the pre-discounted amount of your bill.

A Alex Lindqvist 1 month ago
Definitely tip on the full price of your meal before applying the certificate. It's not usually built in.
